US Airlines supposedly mailed a notice for free airline tickets. Sent as a letter asking me to call the number after having "attempted contacting" me. No return address on the envelope but the post mark is Phoenix, Az. The letterhead appears fake. Looks like a scam.
My parents found reviewed bank statement and found an odd ACH transaction in amount of $446.91. Name on draft was Private Capitol LLC. When I called #(855)474 8013 for that group as shown on check, was told they only collect funds for discounted medical benefit plans sold by YHG (Your Health Group). They told me I would have to call YHG at 866-753-7321 to get refund and proof that the payment was authorized. I did get an AWFUL, RUDE foreign woman who yelled at me and talked over me. She said she was not with YHG but was their answering service. Told me she was in the Phillipines. CRIMINALS!!!
Scam! The message was left for me on my father in laws cell phone. I called and got a recording from a Zimmerman young and associates, typed in the ext and it was a Brandon Calahan.
When he called back I told him I had researched the company and number and know they are a scam. He said he did not work for Zimmerman but for RCAN, which as far as I can tell is a debt collector ad agency. I told him I would do nothing without proof mailed to my home and he said he would and also email it. Nothing has ever come.
I called Zimmerman, not RCAN and RCAN is not a debt collector anyway. I spoke up about knowing the scam before he said much and I think this allowed him to claim he worked somewhere else.
He did know the name of the bank that my previous account was held but I had never taken out the loan or heard of the company he claimed the loan was taken from. He then tried to convince me that my husband had done it behind my back and he had the IP address to prove it was him.
I didn't get called. I just got debited by them $9.95 probably for a "free" cookbook or some such other thing. Likely a scheme to sign unsuspecting people up for something they don't want and didn't ask for. Bank statement says California, but phone number says to call such and such days/hours "Central" time zone. Curious.
